Black Sky Cap
A poem inspired by one of my contacts, Thank you, please critique?
Silently the willow weeps
Her boughs hang limp
As a vigil she keeps
No tears will fall
As beneath the child sleeps
Solemnly she stands her ground
Firmly in the field
Strong and profound
Her leaves will yield
When the winds surround
And dreams waft out like butterflies
From sleepy dreamers
Coal black eyes
And no one sees them
Floating upward to the skies…
The clouds are heavy filled with rain
The dreams float freely
None will remain
As yawns escape
The child whimpers as in pain
The weeping willow shelter offers
To one alone and scared
As night is hastening
To appear
A cap the child proffers…..
Then leaving willows supple refuge
Heads across the field
Before the clouds spill the deluge
Of rain they yield…
Into daddy’s waiting arms
comfort in words
carrying a mind
away
from where it cares less
to where care does
