Fleece Ear Warmer
So I'm going to Colorado for Christmas....?
With my two year old son...
We live in California, so we're clueless about "real weather"...
What all do I need? This is what I have so far...
I have...
A snow bib
A matching hooded jacket
Thermals (Long underwear)
Boots
dumb little mittens
(I need to get real gloves if they even make them that small)
Fleece sleepers for at night time
Thick sweat pants and sweaters (or would jeans be better?)
I still need to get a thick warm hat with ear flaps
and a "Gait"?
What else?
Something to cover his face also--neck warmer, scarf, etc.
And SUNSCREEN if he's going to be outside. Sun is more intense at high altitudes, *and* it reflects off of snow (even on a cloudy day), which can result in a nasty sunburn.
Bring extra thermals in case of accidents (accidents if he's out of diapers, blowouts if he's in them).
Kids don't really suffer from altitude sickness, but the altitude can make his ears hurt until they "pop." Chewy snacks can help them pop faster and hurt less in the car if you'll be driving over any mountains/passes.
You could also bring some buckets and shovels like what you'd use to make sand castles at the beach and use them to make snow castles with him on a nice day. He'd probably like that.
