Ski waxing?

How do you know when you've "burned your bases" when hot waxing skis? What needs to be done if the bases are burned?

You've really got to keep the iron moving once you dripped a significant amount of wax (if your not using a waxer). But if you burned the base they will never be fast again, and if you really burn them they will indeed be rock skis.
Don't be afraid to use a lot of wax. The more you wax your skis, the faster they'll get, and the better you'll be at taking care of your skis.
