SMC network [ez connect g] problems with signal
wehave an IBC thinkpad and we are currently using the SMC network [ez connect g] and i am having trouble catching a signal it come in very low!! I am only about a foot away from the router and unless i plug it into the modem.the person we bought thislaptop from told uswhat to do to connect to the signal and he wrote it down too and we lost the paper and we forgot what to do!!! pleaseif you can help me please doo!!

If you are getting a low signal, then you likely have a hardware problem. I would start by trying a different laptop or an USB or PCMCIA wireless adapter in the same laptop to determine if the problem is the access point or the laptop. If the laptop has internal wireless and other laptops or the new wireless adapter shows good signal, then check the 2 antenna connectors to the mini PCI wireless card inside your laptop. The PCI mini card is always behind a removable panel on the bottom of the laptop or accessible from the top by removing the keyboard.
